Steve McQueen was a great motorcycle rider and performed most of his stunts,...except one, the one over the barbed wire fence, Steve crashed his motorcycle trying that one.
Steve enlisted his pal, Bud Elkins to do the stunt.
The motorcycle chase sequence, was filmed near the medievil town of Fussen south of Munich in Germany
Interestingly enough, Steve was also the German motorcycle rider he fells with the wire across the road. Where did he get the wire for that? So in fact Steve McQueen was actually chasing himself.
